Terms of Service

1. What GlassBeadGuide is

GlassBeadGuide is a philosophical reflection tool. It uses large language models (AI) to offer multiple philosophical perspectives on situations or questions you share with it.

GlassBeadGuide is not a mental health service, therapy, counselling, or medical device. It is not a substitute for professional psychological support. If you are in crisis or distress, please contact a qualified mental health professional or a crisis helpline in your country.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use GlassBeadGuide. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
• You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of third parties without their consent.
• You may delete your account at any time via Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the text you submit in reflections and any other content you provide (“Your Content”).

By submitting Your Content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service — for example, to send it to our AI provider to generate a response, and to store it so you can access your history.

You agree not to submit content that:

• is unlawful, harmful, or facilitates illegal activity;
• contains personal data of third parties without their consent;
• is designed to deceive, manipulate, or exploit others;
• attempts to reverse-engineer, probe, or attack the Service or its underlying systems.

We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and we do not sell it. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

5. AI-generated content

The philosophical responses generated by the Service are produced by AI and are provided for reflective and informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice of any kind — legal, medical, psychological, financial, or otherwise.

AI can make mistakes. Do not rely on AI-generated responses as a sole basis for significant personal, financial, medical, or legal decisions.

6. Letters to Future Self

When you schedule a letter, you authorise us to store the letter content and send it to the email address associated with your account on the selected delivery date. You may cancel a scheduled letter at any time before delivery via the Letters page.

We cannot guarantee delivery if your email address becomes invalid or if your account is deleted before the delivery date.

7. Paid plans

A free plan is available with no payment required. A Pro subscription will be offered in the future. When available, the following terms apply:

• Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout.
• You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial periods unless required by applicable law.
• Prices are shown inclusive of applicable VAT where required. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice.
• Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. By subscribing you agree to Lemon Squeezy’s terms.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Where practical, we will give reasonable advance notice of significant changes.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.

9. Intellectual property

All content, design, code, and trademarks associated with GlassBeadGuide are our property or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written consent, except as permitted by applicable law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GlassBeadGuide is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) €50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Spain, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer under the law of your country of residence.
